Magnetically-controlled growing rods (MCGR) are used in the management of early-onset scoliosis (EOS). Each MCGR contains a telescopic actuator that serves as the distraction element when stimulated by an external remote controller (ERC), permitting non-invasive lengthening in the outpatient clinic.
